Bio

Edgar Betts is a market leader in Digital Innovation and Transformation with experience in industry development of new technologies and introducing them into different countries and vertical markets, including participating the development of a Market Development Cooperation Program (MDCP) fund that was issued by the International Trade Administration – ITA, US Government. Mr. Betts has served in important leadership roles including as a jury in important international awards, contributions in several international publications and magazines. Determining industry best practices, mandates, specifications and roadmaps in areas of digital identification, payment methods, mobile, biometrics, cyber security, intelligent interconnected cities, among others. In 2007, the Junior Chamber International (JCI) of Panama recognized Mr. Betts with the “The Outstanding Young Persons of the World” (TOYP) award, for his development in the Science and Technology category. In 2010, the newspaper Capital Financiero recognized him among the 40 most influential people under 40. In 2018 he was awarded the Innova Ciudad prize from The Smart City Business America Institute (SCBA) for the development of the Digital Center of Excellence, which he Co-Founder with the National Bureau of Science, Technology, and Innovation – SENACYT and the City of Knowledge Foundation – FCDS. Mr. Betts is currently the President/CEO of Microchip Technologies Solutions – MTS, also holds the position of Executive Director for Digital Innovation Alliance, an international organization representing the digital identity, cybersecurity, and digital transformation industries. He advises international market leaders in the development of flagship projects, using innovation and digital transformation technologies.
