Bio
Derek is the Vice President of Standards and Alliances at Yubico where he leads the development and deployment of authentication solutions utilizing the YubiKey. He’s an expert in the cybersecurity space with over 20 years of experience, and has worked to drive the development of architectural standards and best practices for enterprise and consumer authentication.
Prior to Yubico, Derek was Identity Architect at Costco and Technical Advisor at Insyndia where he implemented solutions centered on strong authentication and identity access management. In particular, Derek has experience architecting and deploying identity solutions for Fortune 100 companies in manufacturing, finance and healthcare that leveraged the latest in federation, authentication and identity management practices.
Derek holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Corban University. Outside of work, he enjoys time home with his wife and three kids, coaching youth sports, producing live events, and woodworking.
