Biometrics is often included as one of the authentication method on digital identity platform. Biometrics has helped in validating a person’s identity and avoiding fraudulent access to data or services provided by corporations as well as government agencies. Biometrics has made the authentication process more secure and convenient. For many, biometrics is a part of our daily lives. While a lot is being said and written about Biometric technologies, organizations had made some key mistakes while implementing Biometrics. This could lead to increased friction and even exclusion for certain user population. In this presentation, we will go over the fundamental of biometrics and what makes one biometric modality more suitable than the others and what other factors (technical and non technical) should we consider in order to implement a frictional biometric authentication solution?
