Andrés is assistant vice president for Secure Payments and has responsibility to understand the payments and fraud landscape and identify areas where to improve security and reduce fraud. He is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Federal Reserve strategies for payment security in collaboration with stakeholders in the payments industry. Most recently, Andrés collaborated with payment industry stakeholders to develop the FraudClassifier model for payments – an effort to improve consistency in the classification of fraud in the U.S. payments industry. Andrés is an experienced leader with over 25 years of experience in the banking, brokerage, and payments industries with expertise in technology risk management, security, compliance, and solution delivery. Prior to joining the Bank, Andrés led the technology risk management function for the brokerage platform at Fidelity Investments. While at Fidelity, Andrés held several other senior leadership positions in technology risk management and compliance across multiple business lines. Andrés also previously worked at IBM where he led technology solutions delivery and control transformation efforts for outsourcing clients, as well as at PepsiCo and startup technology companies. Andrés holds a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Pace University and an M.B.A. from the Boston College Carroll School of Management. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
