Richard is the Market Development Manager, Connected Device Standards at the FIDO Alliance, where he focuses on edge/IOT technologies such as FIDO Device Onboard (FDO). Prior to joining the FIDO team in 2023, Richard was at Intel where he held a number of roles including managing Intel’s Edge Controls for Industrial (ECI) platform. ECI is a software defined industrial control platform that brings flexibility and interoperability to edge based industrial control systems such as those used in the oil and gas industry, automotive manufacturing and the pharmaceutical industry. Richard also led Intel’s efforts on industrial robotics with AI vision based systems. Additionally Richard led the product and business effort for Intel’s Secure Device Onboard (SDO) technology which was contributed to the FIDO Alliance and is now a foundational component of FDO. Richard was the co-chair of the FDO IOT WG from its outset until leaving Intel. Prior to Intel, Richard had a long career at Texas Instruments (in the UK, France and US) where he worked on a wide range of silicon and software businesses including those in the wireless and IoT space. Richard lives in San Jose, CA.
