Shane Weeden in a Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM, leading worldwide technical architecture for Access Management. Shane has worked in both standards and product development roles across a wide variety of federation and access management technologies for more than 20 years. A strong customer advocate, Shane prides himself on providing practical advice for practitioners, and is a regular speaker and author of technical articles. Shane is deeply passionate about making the internet a safer place to operate, and has led IBM’s technical implementation of the FIDO2 standards since 2018, as well as being an active contributor to the w3c Web Authentication standard. Shane is also a master inventor at IBM with 17 filed patents in security technologies.
